Nolan & Cunnings was established in 1920 by William Nolan and Oliver T. Cunnings. The primary function of the organization until 1952 was the filing of claims for perishable goods. In 1953, we introduced the "Freight Bill Payment Plan." This was one of the first pre-audit and payment plans available in the United States.
With an eye toward providing each client a custom service tailored to its needs, N&C has continued its program of enhancing its system and internet capabilities and expanding EDI and negotiation support.
N&C currently services over 150 companies, providing a variety of traffic-related services. These include corporate transportation and cost reduction studies, rate negotiation with carriers, pre-audit and payment of freight bills, freight rate quotation, filing of loss and damage claims, classification of products, revision of bills of lading, rate studies, and customer rate systems.
Located in Warren, Michigan near the General Motor’s Technical Center, Nolan & Cunnings employs forty people organized into three major areas of responsibility: traffic and transportation consulting, systems and data processing, and clerical operations.
Unlike many other transportation consultants, we neither perform work for, nor are affiliated with, carriers. We believe that this policy allows us to protect the best interests of our shipper-receiver customers. We take a personal approach to servicing our clients and we are dedicated to providing them with the highest quality service available.
Although we operate on a thirty-day contract, most of our clients have been with us many years. We know ours is a valuable money-saving service. Clerical savings alone usually more than cover our charges. We believe we provide the most accurate, cost-effective service of our kind in the United States.
